Commonet radios
Set up a radio
Official Meshtastic flash first, then a Commonet USB post-config pass (region, pocket vs solar role, Commonet channel). Beacon is daily use. We do not flash these boards over Bluetooth — Seeed's NRF-OTA path can brick the T1000-E and the solar Cap.
Three jobs
- Flash Meshtastic — USB, Chrome or Edge, their flasher. 2.7.x stable. Erase first, then firmware.
- Commonet post-config — USB pass on our bench: pocket = CLIENT, solar Cap = ROUTER_LATE, Commonet channel, MQTT off. No Meshtastic app.
- Beacon — Find my radio, PIN 123456. Daily use. Phones never flash firmware.

Pocket radio
Seeed SenseCAP T1000-E
- Use 4-pin magnetic USB cable that carries data (charge-only cables fail).
- Hold the button and plug/unplug twice until the green LED stays on. A drive named T1000-E appears.
- In the flasher, confirm Seeed Card Tracker T1000-E, trash-can erase, then 2.7.x stable — not LoRaWAN, not MeshCore, not NRF-OTA.
- Then Commonet USB post-config: pocket radio (CLIENT).
Solar Cap
Seeed SenseCAP P1-Pro
- Use USB-C into the XIAO (not a fast charger). First boot: plug in USB to activate, then PWR for 3 seconds.
- Double-press RST. A drive named XIAO-… appears.
- In the flasher, confirm Seeed SenseCAP Solar Node, trash-can erase, then 2.7.x stable — not LoRaWAN, not MeshCore, not NRF-OTA.
- Then Commonet USB post-config: lake infrastructure (ROUTER_LATE). Not a phone-style device.
Then open Beacon
Close any Meshtastic app. In Beacon: Profile → Find my radio. Pairing is daily use; Commonet settings were written in the USB post-config pass.
